Edmund Gill

Oil on canvas ( re-lined) measuring 20” x 30”. Painted by Edmund Marriner Gill, English 1820-1894 ( sometimes referred to as Edmund “waterfall” Gill) son of portrait painter Edmund Ward Gill and brother to artists William Gill and George Gill. Edmund Gill studied at the Royal Academy and traveled extensively throughout England, Scotland and Wales. This painting is signed and dated 1873, in 1876 he received a bronze medal at The Crystal Palace painting competition, Sydenham S.E. London.
